Hello,
I thought I’d tell you a little about me, so you can get to know who I am.
I was born and grew up in the San Jose area in California. I was born with an auto immune disease call Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, JRA, which eventually caused me to become blind, around age five. My dad and stepmom taught me to believe in myself. They told me that I was the only one who could stop me from achieving my dreams. They taught me that there would be times, when the world might try to stop me, due to my disabilities, but that I should never give up. And I never have.
I’ve worked as a switchboard operator, a computer instructor, a fund raising assistant, and admissions specialist at a guide dog school and as a tech support rep for an adaptive technology company.
I’ve just submitted my first novel for possible publication to The Writers Coffee Shop Publishing House, and I am anxiously waiting to hear if it is accepted for publication. In the meantime, I continue to write the novel, and write other things as well.
I have two female black labs, one my current guide dog, and the other my retired guide dog. I also love cats, though we don’t have any at this time.
I love reading, music, theater, movies, shopping and spending time with friends and family. And writing of course.
I think that’s about it for this little post. In future posts, I will talk about favorite books, music, movies and whatever else comes to mind.
